The charity AF&V Launchpad Ltd, known as "Launchpad", is formed and opens Avondale House on the Byker Estate in Newcastle.  Avondale House is owned by the Byker Community Trust and Launchpad rents the building from the BCT.  The BCT was a vital partner in developing the charity in Newcastle.

February 2015

Launchpad opens Speke House in Liverpool.  Following the success of Avondale House, Launchpad was offered the former Johnnie Johnson Housing Trust building.

HRH Prince Harry visits Avondale House and the Byker community.  

The last time a member of the Royal Family had visited the Byker Estate was in the early 1970s when the Duke of Edinburgh opended the new estate, which had been designed by Ralph Erskine.


April 2016

Launchpad is awarded the "Working Together" category of the 2016 nations Soldering On Awards; the award was sponsored by the Forces in Mind Trust.
